What Exactly is the process to sell my home?
When you start to think about selling your home, you may instantly start to twitch and develop a migraine from all the stressful situations you foresee. Selling your home does not have to be frustrating. Believe it or not, there is a process and if you have the right realtor, you can actually enjoy the process rather than worry about a full head of grey hairs.

Here are the right steps to take

The first step always includes what I like to call “the interview”. Remember you are hiring someone to sell your home, not the other way around. Have an agent come by that is well known or comes highly recommended to tour your home and give you her estimate. Sit down and talk through your expectations and you will know right away if she is the person you want to hire. Hopefully, she is and you can move on from there. If not, keep looking if you aren’t in too much of a hurry. If you find the right match, then your home could sell like hotcakes.
Let’s say you found her. You two will schedule a next meeting to discuss the strategies behind making this an easy sell. She will explain to you the reasons behind her methods and a realistic goal price for your home. Once you agree upon the particulars, it is time to list your home.

Listing

Now it’s time to put your house on the market and get the ball rolling, so to speak. Marketing your home will be key to getting potential home buyers in and getting your home sold.
Some strategies for marketing may include:
-a personalized website for your home
-a for sale sign in your yard with specific information for passer byers to take with them
-the ever famous MLS listing site
-mailers for locals that may be in the market or know someone who is
-popular real estate websites
The more viewings and traffic your home gets, the more likely for a fast sell. This is the reason for marketing your home a number of different ways. You want as many potential home buyers seeing your listing as possible.

Why Do I Do all of this?

You’ve heard the saying, the early bird gets the worm! You must have a proactive real estate agent who is willing to go the extra mile rather than an agent that purely lists your home and sits and waits. The latter agent will not get the worm! Every stage of this process is important which is why choosing the right agent is critical. Find someone that will treat your home as if it were there’s and you will have great success!
